Man Stabbed Multiple Times on Front Porch in Versailles

July 26, 2024

VERSAILLES BOROUGH, Pa. — An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering multiple stab wounds on the porch of a duplex in the 400 block of Worthington Street. The incident, which occurred at 8:01 p.m., prompted the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit to respond to a request for assistance from the Versailles Borough Police.

First responders found two additional victims in the adjacent residence. An adult male with a stab wound and an adult female who had been assaulted were both transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased male and another man were involved in an altercation that resulted in the initial stabbing. The suspect then reportedly entered the neighboring duplex, where a second confrontation occurred, leading to the stabbing of another male and the assault of a female. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

Witnesses provided descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle, leading McKeesport Police to locate and apprehend an adult male shortly after the incident. While in custody at the McKeesport Police Department, the suspect allegedly fought with officers, resulting in injuries to one officer and a K9. Both were taken for medical treatment. The suspect was subdued and also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives are collaborating with the district attorney’s office to determine appropriate charges. The investigation is ongoing.
