NEW YORK CITY, NY — A distressing incident occurred on Fifth Avenue early Monday morning, where a 47-year-old man was assaulted after being struck with a gel water gun. The attack took place in front of 373 5th Avenue around 8:15 AM on May 20, 2024.

According to police reports, after the victim was hit by the water gun, he approached the three unidentified assailants. The confrontation escalated quickly as the individuals began to kick and punch him multiple times. Following the assault, the attackers fled the scene on bicycles, heading northbound on 5th Avenue.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the assault and was attended to by emergency medical services. He was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
