The Manchester Township Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer David Fusaro to the rank of Sergeant during an October 3rd, 2018, ceremony in the Municipal Complex Civic Center. Mayor Kenneth Palmer administered the Sergeant Oath to Officer Fusaro before his family, including his father, Councilman Samuel Fusaro, and police personnel, including Chief Lisa Parker. Sgt. Fusaro was promoted to fill a supervisor vacancy, which resulted from a recent retirement.

“Attaining the rank of sergeant takes an incredible amount of dedication and sacrifice, not only for the officer undergoing this rigorous testing process but also their family,” said Chief Parker, who noted that countless hours of intense study are required to successfully complete the written and oral portions of the Sergeant’s exam. “Over his years of decorated service, Sgt. Fusaro has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to our community, its residents and his fellow officers.”

Sgt. Fusaro began his law enforcement career in 2004 with the Seaside Heights Police Department. He was hired by the Manchester Township Police Department in 2007 and due to his exemplary work was selected to become a member of the Investigations Bureau in 2015. There, he conducted numerous investigations into various types of crimes. He served as a Field Training Officer, Domestic Violence County Liaison, Firearms Instructor, and Megan’s Law Liaison, among other positions. Sgt. Fusaro also co-founded the Elite Law Enforcement Fitness Challenge, which has raised nearly $20,000 for charity.

“This proud day would not be possible without the continued support of Mayor Palmer and the Township Council. I can say with sincerity and appreciation that their support makes all of this is possible,” said Chief Parker.
