Manhunt underway for fugitive wanted for murder in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — Authorities are searching for Damario McCall, 41, who is wanted in connection with the July 5 shooting death of Ar’mon Covington at a BP gas station on Grant Street, according to the Akron Police Department.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to McCall’s arrest. He is wanted on charges of murder, weapons under disability, and carrying a concealed weapon.

McCall is described as a Black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 195 pounds. Officials say he is known to frequent both Akron and Cleveland.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED or submit a tip online at the U.S. Marshals Service website. Anonymous tips are accepted and reward money is available.
