DUI Arrest on Irvington Avenue:
On August 8, Maplewood Police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash near Irvington Avenue and Boyden Avenue. After conducting an investigation at the scene, Officer Crayton arrested 22-year-old Makai Greene of South Orange, N.J., for Driving Under the Influence. Greene was taken into custody following the crash.

Motor Vehicle Theft on Girard Place:
On August 11, officers responded to a residence on Girard Place regarding a motor vehicle theft. The vehicle, a 2021 Jeep Compass, was stolen after the owner parked it in front of the residence. The vehicle was later recovered in Newark, N.J. The suspect(s) involved in the theft remain unidentified.

Aggravated Assault Arrest on Florida Street:
On August 12, Maplewood Police officers were dispatched to a residence on Florida Street following a report of aggravated assault. Officers arrested 34-year-old Steven Hemmings of Maplewood, N.J., for Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault on an Officer, and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose. Hemmings was transported to County Jail after the arrest.

Shoplifting Arrest on Valley Street:
On August 13, officers responded to a business on Valley Street regarding a shoplifting incident. Officers apprehended 49-year-old Donail England of Newark, N.J., who matched the description provided by the business manager. England was arrested and transported to County Jail. Another shoplifting incident occurred during this period, though details were not specified.

Motor Vehicle Rummages:
Between August 8 and August 13, the Maplewood Police Department received multiple reports of motor vehicle rummages on Springfield Avenue, Park Avenue, and Jacoby Street.
