GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Township Council has granted its first-ever cannabis business license to Grasshopper Farms, marking a significant milestone in the township’s history. The unanimous decision follows New Jersey’s statewide legalization of recreational cannabis establishments.

Grasshopper Farms, initially founded in Michigan and known for its advanced cannabis cultivation methods, will set up its indoor growing operation on property owned by Duane K. and Pamela Demaree, long-time residents of Galloway Township. The approval came after a rigorous review process by the seven-member, all-Republican Township Council.

This process involved resolving key concerns and establishing guidelines for cannabis cultivation within the township.

Grasshopper Farms’ founder and CEO, Will Bowden, expressed gratitude towards Mayor Anthony Coppola, council member and Cannabis Committee leader Rich Clute, and other council members for their comprehensive due diligence.

Bowden highlighted the importance of the committee’s role in the decision-making process and expressed readiness to uphold regulatory and operational excellence.
