Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for expulsion of New Jersey congresswoman who stormed ICE facility

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday publicly called for the expulsion of Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) following the airing of a video during a Homeland Security Committee hearing that Greene claims shows McIver assaulting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

“LaMonica McIver… couldn’t even look up as video played of her assaulting ICE officers during today’s hearing,” Greene posted on X. “She has zero respect for law enforcement or the rule of law.”

The post, shared during National Police Week, accused McIver of behavior that Greene said went beyond violations typically addressed by censure or committee removal, stating, “LaMonica McIver should be EXPELLED from Congress.”

McGiver is one of three New Jersey congressional representatives who stormed the Delaney Hall ICE Detention Facility in Newark last week. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested for trespassing and the Department of Justice said criminal charges for McIver, who appeared to assault federal agents on released bodycam video could also be filed.
