Maryland Carjacking Caught on Video, Police Seek Suspect

Video Released of Suspect in Upper Marlboro Attempted Carjacking

UPPER MARLBORO, MD—The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Carjacking Interdiction Unit has released surveillance footage of a suspect involved in an attempted carjacking. The incident occurred early in the morning on July 11, 2024, in the 9500 block of Crain Highway.

The video shows the suspect initially passing by a vehicle parked in front of a building. Moments later, he returns, approaches the vehicle where the victim is seated in the driver’s seat, opens the door, and attempts to pull the victim out. The suspect eventually fled on foot, leaving the vehicle and victim unharmed.

Authorities are seeking assistance in identifying and locating the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Carjacking Interdiction Unit detectives at 301-516-3788.
