Maryland state trooper and K-9s injured in Havre de Grace crash

Both the trooper and his K-9s were flown to Annapolis for care following the Route 155 crash.

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. — A Maryland state trooper and his two K-9 partners were injured Thursday afternoon following a collision in Harford County, according to Maryland State Police.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of Route 155 and North Earlton Road in Havre de Grace. Troopers from the Bel Air Barrack responded to the scene involving a marked patrol vehicle and a 2005 Isuzu Ascender.

Authorities said the trooper was on duty at the time of the incident and had both police dogs in his vehicle. Due to injuries sustained by the K-9s, Maryland State Police Aviation Command flew the trooper and the dogs to a veterinary facility in Annapolis for treatment.

The driver of the Isuzu Ascender was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The condition of the driver has not been publicly released.

State police have not provided further details on the cause of the crash or the current status of those involved.

Investigation ongoing following Route 155 collision

Officials stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available. The identities of the trooper and the other driver were not immediately disclosed.

The crash prompted a temporary closure of the intersection while first responders attended to the victims and cleared the wreckage.

Maryland State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and have not indicated whether any charges are expected.
