Masked thieves strike near L’Enfant Plaza in brutal robbery

WASHINGTON, DC — A man was violently assaulted late Wednesday night in Northwest Washington before the suspect fled the scene, leaving the victim injured on the ground.

The attack happened around 11:58 p.m. in the Unit block of L Street NW. First District officers arrived to find an adult male suffering from injuries, and DC Fire and EMS transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect, and police have released an image in hopes of identifying the individual.

Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text an anonymous tip to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
