Massachusetts Woman Sentenced For Poisoning Her Husband Under Influence of Soap Star

July 3, 2024

TOWNSEND, MA – Roxanne Doucette of Townsend, Massachusetts, has been sentenced to one year of probation after pleading guilty to charges related to a bizarre poisoning case. The incident, which garnered significant media attention, involved Doucette allegedly poisoning her husband under the influence of someone posing as soap opera star Thorsten Kaye.

The case began when Doucette’s daughter alerted authorities to suspicious messages that suggested her mother had poisoned her father.

Police responded to these allegations at Nashoba Valley Medical Center. Investigations revealed Doucette believed she was in communication with Thorsten Kaye, known from “The Bold and the Beautiful,” which influenced her actions.

Originally facing severe charges including attempted murder and assault on a police officer, Doucette has pleaded guilty to violating a protection order. All other charges were dismissed, and there was no formal charge of attempted murder. This plea comes after Townsend police arrested her and subsequent violations involving contacting her husband post-arrest.
