Massive drug bust nets 7600 heroin bags and loaded gun in multi agency raid

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A three-month narcotics investigation across Atlantic County ended Tuesday with the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of thousands of doses of illegal drugs, a loaded firearm, and drug distribution equipment.

Law enforcement executed simultaneous court-authorized search warrants in Atlantic City, Pleasantville, and Mays Landing on July 29, resulting in the arrests of Shane Tutis, 30, of Pleasantville; Dominique Handy, 34, and Hikima White, 38, both of Mays Landing.

Detectives recovered 7,650 individual bags of heroin, 902 fentanyl pills, over five ounces of methamphetamine, three grams of cocaine, 123 suboxone films, a loaded handgun, and numerous items used to manufacture and package narcotics.

The investigation was led by Atlantic City Police Detective Christopher Dodson with support from the DEA Liberty Mid-Atlantic High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, New Jersey State Police, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the ACPD Special Investigations Section. SWAT teams from both Atlantic City and Atlantic County carried out the search operations.

Each of the three suspects faces multiple charges including possession of controlled dangerous substances, intent to distribute, maintaining a drug production facility, unlawful weapon possession, possession of a firearm during a drug offense, and money laundering.

The Atlantic City Police Department announced, “The investigation led to the recovery of large amounts of various narcotics and an illegal firearm.”

All three individuals were taken into custody without incident.
