ARNOLD, PA — A McKeesport man is in custody after allegedly forcing his way into an Arnold home and stabbing a woman during a domestic dispute early Saturday morning, police said.

Victim stabbed after suspect broke down bathroom door
Arnold Police and the Westmoreland County Detective Bureau responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 1700 block of 3rd Avenue. Investigators said Maurice Johnson, 26, allegedly broke into the home and forced his way into a bathroom where two women were hiding. He then stabbed one woman and assaulted the other before fleeing the scene.
The stabbing victim was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital where she underwent surgery. Authorities reported her condition as stable following treatment.
Suspect fled on foot, caught nearby
Police said the victims gave a detailed description of Johnson, leading officers to spot him running between houses in the area. He was apprehended shortly after a foot pursuit with responding units.
Johnson, who is the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims, allegedly stalked the women earlier that night, following them between bars in the Arnold and New Kensington areas before they returned to the residence.
Multiple charges filed, suspect held without bail
Johnson was found to have active warrants at the time of the attack. He is now facing a list of charges including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, harassment, and stalking. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Westmoreland County Prison where he remains without bail.
