Merchandise stolen in Southwest DC as police hunt for suspect

WASHINGTON, DC — Police are seeking help from the public to identify a suspect involved in the theft of merchandise from an establishment in Southwest DC late last month.

The incident occurred on Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m. in the 800 block of Maine Avenue SW. The suspect reportedly entered the establishment, stole items, and fled the scene before officers arrived.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, and police have released a photo to assist with identification efforts.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is urged to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
