North Brunswick, NJ – The Middlesex County Department of Corrections logged several new bookings over the past 24 hours, with defendants facing charges ranging from violent felonies to municipal court contempt offenses.
The latest jail records show individuals committed by police departments in Carteret, Woodbridge and Perth Amboy, while other inmates were released after brief stays in custody following court proceedings.
Home invasion and aggravated assault charges filed
The most serious case among the newest bookings involves Andre Cherry, 43, who was committed to the Middlesex County Jail early Thursday following an arrest by the Carteret Police Department.
Cherry is charged with two counts of aggravated assault alleging attempted or purposeful bodily injury with a deadly weapon and two counts of home invasion burglary. Jail records show he is being held without bail pending Superior Court proceedings.
The alleged offenses occurred Thursday, according to booking records.
Shoplifting and contempt cases among latest commitments
Charles Johnson, 64, was booked shortly after midnight following a Woodbridge Police investigation.
Johnson is charged with shoplifting and is being held without bail pending a Central Judicial Processing court appearance.
Daquan A. Johnson, 30, was committed by Woodbridge Municipal Court on two separate contempt of court matters. Jail records list cash bonds totaling $4,000.
Rafael C. Gonzalez, 30, was booked Thursday morning after a Perth Amboy Police arrest on a contempt of court charge. Records show a cash bond was set at $2,500.
Several inmates released after court proceedings
The jail log also reflects a number of inmates released Wednesday following court action.
Julian Conrado, 33, was released after posting bond in a case charging terroristic threats. He had been booked Wednesday morning and released several hours later.
Joseph G. Exarchakis, 31, was released after being held on charges of shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an East Brunswick Police case.
Vipin Gandhi, 40, was released the same day after facing a charge of aggravated assault by strangulation involving a domestic violence allegation. Jail records indicate he had initially been held without bail.
Antonio Perpiglia, 38, was released after resolving a contempt of court matter that carried a $2,000 cash bond.
Kierra Hawkins, 25, also secured release after being booked on a contempt of court charge with a $1,500 cash bond.
Daniel Rochford, 40, was released after appearing on a charge alleging violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
Wayne Harris, 54, completed a county sentence related to a probation violation and was released Wednesday.
Jordy Castillo-Sanchez, 23, was also released after previously being held on a theft by deception case.
