Middletown Police Recover Stolen Vehicle and Arrest Suspect on Drug Charges

July 24, 2024

Middletown, DE – On July 20, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Middletown Police attempted to stop an Audi A5 for a registration violation near West Main Street and North Cass Street. The vehicle failed to stop and was later found unoccupied on the 300 block of Northhampton Way. The vehicle was discovered to have been stolen from Pennsylvania.

A K9 track, conducted with the assistance of the New Castle County Police K9 Unit, led to the arrest of Niisaiah Carter, 24, of Seaford, who was found in the wood line a short distance from where the vehicle was located. Carter was taken into custody without incident. A search revealed a large sum of money, drug packaging material, and approximately 53 grams of suspected marijuana in his pockets and backpack.

Carter has been charged with the following offenses and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of an $8,207 cash bond:

  • Manufacture/Deliver/PWID Controlled Substance
  • Receiving Stolen Property Value over $1500
  • Disregarding a Police Officer Signal
  • Eight other traffic offenses

The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
