Millsboro Man Arrested for Attempted Robbery and Assault in Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH, DELAWARE – Delaware State Police have apprehended 36-year-old Kevin Clary of Millsboro, Delaware, following an attempted robbery and assault incident in Rehoboth Beach. The arrest occurred after an event that unfolded on January 19, 2024.

Around 3:32 p.m., a 38-year-old man, who had been stabbed in the hand, reported the incident to a state trooper. The altercation took place in the Wendy’s parking lot at 19054 Coastal Highway. The victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when Clary, an acquaintance, approached him. Clary, having earlier made threats inside Wendy’s, demanded money and attacked the victim with a knife.

The victim managed to shut the car door to halt the assault, but Clary continued to attack, kicking the car door. The situation ended when the victim’s girlfriend drove the car to a nearby business where they found the trooper.

The victim received hospital treatment for his injury. Clary was located and arrested near a wooded area on Coastal Highway. He was charged with attempted robbery and felony assault, among other crimes, and was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3.
