Montgomery County Police Arrest Man in Castle Boulevard Carjacking Case

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division has apprehended 30-year-old Samuel Robert Bajard in connection with a carjacking and attempted burglary incident on Castle Boulevard.

The event unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, June 9, 2024, when police were called to the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard around 4:24 AM following reports of an attempted burglary. The investigation uncovered that Bajard, along with unidentified accomplices, attempted to force entry into an apartment by kicking the door and throwing a rock through a window. The resident managed to repel the intruders using bear spray, causing them to flee in a vehicle.

Subsequently, as the suspects exited the apartment complex, they confronted and assaulted a driver arriving home, subsequently stealing the driver’s Toyota Camry.

Bajard was identified as a suspect during the investigation, leading to an arrest warrant being issued on Thursday, June 13. He was apprehended a week later in Silver Spring and is currently held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
