Montgomery County police are asking for the public’s help to identify the parents or guardians of a non-verbal young boy who was found alone early Monday morning in Takoma Park.
Takoma Park, MD – Officers with the Montgomery County Police Department Third District are working to locate the parents or guardians of a male child believed to be between 6 and 9 years old after he was found alone in the early morning hours Monday.
The child was located at approximately 3:24 a.m. near the 7700 block of Blair Road in Takoma Park. Authorities said the boy is non-verbal and has not been able to identify himself or provide information about his family.

Police release child’s photo
Investigators have released a photograph of the child in hopes that someone will recognize him and help reunite him with his family. Police described him as a male believed to be approximately 6 to 9 years old.
“Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Third District are attempting to locate the parents or guardians of a male child who is believed to be 6 to 9-years-old and who was found alone outside,” the department said in a statement.
Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the child to contact police immediately.
Public asked to call non-emergency line
The department said anyone with information regarding the child’s identity or the whereabouts of his parents or guardians should call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding how the child came to be alone, and the investigation remains ongoing.
