Morning van fire threatened Asbury Park home as firefighters contain blaze

December 20, 2025

ASBURY PARK, NJ – A van fire early Tuesday morning prompted a full emergency response after reports of people trapped inside a burning home on the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue. The call came in around 6:52 a.m., when a box alarm was transmitted for a house fire with possible occupants inside.

Upon arrival, Asbury Park Fire Department crews determined the flames were coming from a van parked near a residence, posing an immediate threat to the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze before it could spread, preventing further damage.

Units remained on scene to ensure the area was safe, and the initial box alarm was canceled once the situation was under control. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
