Mother of two fatally shot in domestic incident in Philadelphia, friends asking for help

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 29-year-old woman was fatally shot in what authorities are investigating as a domestic violence-related homicide in Philadelphia on Saturday.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her family.

Sharita D. Cristwell, born June 6, 1996, was shot twice and pronounced dead at the scene on July 5. According to her family, the suspect is Harry Lindsey, the father of her two children.

Cristwell leaves behind two daughters, Harmony and Layla Lindsey. Her family described her as “a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a cherished sister, a funny, loyal friend, and an amazing aunt.”

The incident is being treated as a case of domestic violence. No further details about charges or arrests have been released by police as of Tuesday.

The family has initiated efforts to raise funds for Cristwell’s memorial service and to support her children’s future needs, including counseling, education, and caregiving.

National data indicates that one in four women in the United States experience severe intimate partner violence during their lifetime, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Anyone experiencing domestic violence can contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text “START” to 88788.
