Motorcyclist killed in crash on Sip Avenue in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A motorcyclist died Thursday morning following a collision with a passenger vehicle at a busy intersection in Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. The crash occurred around 8:55 a.m. near Sip Avenue and Routes 1&9, where police found a motorcycle had collided with a GMC vehicle.

The motorcyclist, identified as Steven Brown, 43, of Jersey City, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly before 10 a.m., officials said.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, in coordination with the Jersey City Police Department, is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details about the cause of the collision have been released.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez confirmed the ongoing investigation in a statement, though it remains unclear if any charges will be filed.
