Multi-bus crash shuts down New York Port Authority terminal, NJ Transit buses diverted

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A multi-bus accident forced the closure of the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal on Tuesday morning, causing major disruptions across regional transit routes.

According to NJ TRANSIT, all bus service traveling to and from the Port Authority is being redirected to alternate hubs, including Secaucus Junction, Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal. Officials did not confirm the number of buses involved in the crash or whether there were any injuries.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has not yet provided a timeline for reopening the terminal, which is one of the busiest in the country and handles more than 200,000 passengers each weekday.
