Multiple Attempted Burglaries Reported in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ – The Westfield Police Department has issued a residential crime alert following a series of attempted burglaries and vehicle thefts on Saturday, 10/07. Incidents reported include:

• An entry into an open garage on the 1000 block of Minisink Way around 7:13 PM. • A burglary of an apparently unlocked vehicle on the 500 block of West South Avenue at roughly 7:30 PM. • An attempted house burglary on the 800 block of Tice Place close to 8:50 PM. • An attempted vehicle theft on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue near 9:28 PM.

The pattern suggests vehicles were the primary target during these residential break-ins.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant: always lock vehicles and homes, safely store key fobs, and promptly report any suspicious behavior to 9-1-1.
