A St. Patrick’s Day call on 2nd Street ended with a public nudity arrest and an unpaid 25-ounce beer.
Lakewood, NJ – A St. Patrick’s Day incident in Lakewood took an unusual turn Tuesday when police responded to reports of a man walking naked along 2nd Street and allegedly removing merchandise from a local store. Officers arriving at the scene found a 69-year-old man standing fully nude outside Pine Cone Liquor Store, holding and drinking a 25-ounce Budweiser.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the man was actively consuming the beverage when officers approached. Police said the individual began yelling “alarming statements” before being taken into custody without further incident.
“It is alleged the individual removed the alcoholic beverage from the store without paying,” the department said in a statement.

Police said the man was transported to Lakewood Police Headquarters following the encounter. He was subsequently charged with lewdness and shoplifting in connection with the incident.
