New County Recreation Pavillion Unveiled in Warren Township

WARREN, NJ – Somerset County and Warren Township celebrated the opening of a new community pavilion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The pavilion, located adjacent to the Warren municipal complex, received partial funding from Somerset County’s Open Space Recreational Grant Program.

Officials present at the event included County Commissioners Paul Drake and Melonie Marano, Deputy Director Doug Singleterry, Warren Township Mayor Gary DiNardo, Committee member Daniel Croson, Warren Recreation Director Joseph Passaro, Committee members Lisa Lontai and Vic Sordillo, and Deputy Mayor George Lazo.

The pavilion is part of the broader County Open Space Preservation Program. The program not only aims to acquire more land for open spaces but also to ensure that Open Space funding is equitably distributed to communities without large tracts of available land.

The new facility is anticipated to serve as a hub for community events and recreational activities, thereby enhancing the local quality of life.
