Somerset County prosecutors are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court.
SOMERVILLE, N.J. — The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office has named a Somerset man as its July Fugitive of the Month and is asking for the public’s help locating him after he allegedly failed to appear in court on a stolen property charge.
Prosecutors said 28-year-old Tywan W. Rawls is wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in connection with one count of third-degree fencing, dealing in stolen property valued between $500 and $74,999.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the charge stems from an incident that occurred in January in Warren Township, Somerset County.
Rawls is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities said his last known address was in Somerset.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office urged anyone with information about Rawls’ whereabouts not to approach him, but instead contact the office’s Fugitive Unit at 908-231-7100. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through the STOPit app, by calling the Somerset County Tip Line at 1-888-577-TIPS (8477), or online through SCPO.TIPS.
As with all criminal cases, the charge is an accusation, and Rawls is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
