New Jersey Greek Restaurant Targeted by Hate-Filled Anti-Jewish TikTok Over ‘Israeli’ Flag

Israeli flags. The video, which went viral with over 3.2 million views on TikTok and millions more on X, captures her proudly removing the flags while proclaiming, “Free Palestine, bitch!” to baffled restaurant staff.

Believing she was making a bold political statement against Zionism, Ambamelia loudly confronted the employees of the Greek restaurant, accusing them of supporting Israel.

But the viral moment took a cringeworthy turn when one of the staff members gently pointed out that the blue-and-white flags she had torn down were, in fact, Greek, not Israeli. “What? Really? Oh, I thought it was Israel — my bad,” she awkwardly responds in the clip, adding, “Oh s–t … it looked like Israel.”

Restaurant owner Efi Mihalis, who opened Efi’s Gyro in 2021 at the age of 18, confirmed that the incident, though unbelievable to some, was entirely real. It actually took place back in March but only recently surfaced online. Mihalis reported the incident to the police when it happened, though the delayed viral attention has made it a topic of widespread internet discussion, with many viewers wondering how someone could make such a blunder.

While the incident has drawn both laughter and criticism, it’s safe to say this is one mix-up the TikToker won’t forget anytime soon!
