New Jersey State Police Honor Fallen Trooper’s Son at New Milford High School Graduation

Troopers attended the graduation of Isaiah Cabrera to honor the memory of his late father, Trooper I Victor Cabrera Bonilla, who died in 2025 while serving with the New Jersey State Police.

New Milford, NJ – Members of the New Jersey State Police attended the New Milford High School graduation ceremony earlier this month to support Isaiah Cabrera as he celebrated a milestone while honoring the memory of his late father, Trooper I Victor Cabrera Bonilla.

Isaiah received his diploma as a member of the Class of 2026 during the June 18 ceremony, surrounded by family, friends, and troopers who came to recognize the occasion.

Trooper I Victor Cabrera Bonilla was assigned to Troop “B” Hope Station when he died in July 2025 at the age of 48.

The New Jersey State Police said attending Isaiah’s graduation reflected the agency’s ongoing commitment to supporting the families of fallen troopers and ensuring their loved ones remain part of the State Police family.

“Troopers were honored to stand with Isaiah during this important milestone,” the New Jersey State Police said in a Facebook post.

The agency said it continues to remember Trooper Cabrera Bonilla’s service while supporting those he left behind.

“The State Police family remains deeply committed to supporting the loved ones of our fallen troopers, and we carry their memory with us always.”
