WASHINGTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Sunflower Trail is in full bloom at Von Thun Farms in Washington, giving visitors another late-summer weekend to walk through sunflower fields, take photos and enjoy family activities in Warren County.
The trail at 438 Route 57 West is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the farm offering expanded Sunflower Festival activities on Saturdays and Sundays throughout August. The final August festival weekend, Aug. 29 and 30, features Latin Fest. (Von Thun Farms)

What Visitors Can Do at the New Jersey Sunflower Trail
Von Thun Farms describes the Washington property as a summer destination where guests can wander through sunflower fields, cut their own flowers, pick berries, visit farm animals and shop for fresh produce at the farm market.
Festival weekends add hayrides, food trucks, beer and wine offerings, artisanal crafters and the farm’s Activity Area. The farm says guests can “stay for a few hours or the whole day,” with activities spread across the property.
Additional purchases are required for some activities. U-cut sunflowers are listed at three stems for $6 or $3 per individual stem, while berry picking and other summer flower picking also carry additional costs.
The farm’s 2026 information specifically notes that peaches are not available as part of this year’s Sunflower Festival offerings. Its late-August updates instead list blackberries and raspberries among the crops currently being picked.
Tickets, Hours and What to Know Before Going
Weekend Sunflower Festival admission is listed at $21.99 and up when purchased online and $24.99 and up when purchased in person. Weekday admission starts at $14.99 online and $17.99 in person.
Weekday admission includes access to the sunflower farm, photo areas, the farm animal barnyard and picking fields, although visitors must purchase a container for anything they pick. Hayrides are not offered during regular weekday visits.
Families visiting Friday, Aug. 28, also have an evening option. Von Thun Farms is holding a Friday Family Night from 4 to 8 p.m., with access to the Activity Area, sunflower trail and summer flower fields.
Visitors should be prepared for outdoor farm conditions. The farm recommends bringing drinks, wearing sunscreen, a hat and closed-toe shoes, and notes that portions of the dirt trail can be uneven. Strollers are allowed but may be difficult to push in some areas.
Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted at the farm, according to Von Thun Farms, although service animals covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act are allowed. The farm also recommends allowing at least 30 minutes to walk the trail, with additional time for photos.
