NEW YORK — Two teenage boys were slashed and robbed on a subway platform in Upper Manhattan after being attacked by a group of four individuals, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, February 17, at the southbound platform of the Dyckman Street station. According to police, the 16-year-old and 15-year-old victims were approached by four unidentified individuals who punched and kicked them before displaying a scalpel. The 16-year-old was slashed on the head, while the 15-year-old suffered cuts to his nose and lip.
The attackers stole the 16-year-old’s cellphone and Nike Jordan sneakers and took one sneaker from the 15-year-old before fleeing northbound on Dyckman Street.
Emergency responders transported both victims to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition.
Police released descriptions of two of the suspects. One is believed to be around 16 years old with a medium complexion, slim build, and black hair, last seen wearing a dark green Canada Goose coat, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers. The second suspect has a dark complexion and was last seen wearing a black winter coat with tan fur on the hood and blue jeans.
The NYPD is investigating the incident and seeking information on the suspects.x
