New York police raid meth lab in Reading

READING, N.Y. — A Schuyler County man was arrested Thursday after New York State Police discovered a large-scale methamphetamine operation during a raid at a residence on Church Road.

Jeremy Wright, 44, of Reading, N.Y., was arrested following a search executed by the New York State Police Troop E Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET). The operation, conducted on April 3, was supported by the State Police Uniform Force and the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team West (CCSERT West).

Authorities seized approximately one ounce of crystal methamphetamine, three ounces of suspected meth oil, two gallons of methamphetamine oil, and an eighth-ounce of psilocybin mushrooms. Police also recovered 300 pseudoephedrine pills, digital scales, packaging materials, an antique pistol, and various lab chemicals and equipment used in meth production.

CCSERT neutralizes meth lab chemicals

CCSERT West personnel safely dismantled and removed the meth lab components, including volatile chemicals and solvents. Police confirmed that the hazardous materials were secured without incident.

Wright was charged with multiple felony offenses, including second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (A-II felony), third-degree possession with intent to sell (B felony), and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (D felony).

Following processing at SP Dundee, Wright was transported to Schuyler County Jail for arraignment. Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
