New York sees double $50K Powerball wins in latest drawing

Powerball tickets sold in Elmsford and Manhattan win $50K prizes in Monday drawing

New York, NY – Two third-prize-winning Powerball tickets worth $50,000 each were sold in Elmsford and Manhattan for Monday’s drawing, according to the New York Lottery. The winning tickets were purchased at Ellie’s Cards & Gifts Shoppe on Tarrytown Road in Elmsford and R N S Inc on 6th Avenue in Manhattan.

Both tickets matched enough numbers to secure the third-tier prize in the April 6 drawing. The New York Lottery confirmed that Powerball numbers are selected from a pool of one through 69, with the red Power Ball drawn separately from one through 26.

The Powerball drawing is held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., offering multiple chances for players across the state to win.

Two locations share identical Powerball wins

The winning ticket in Elmsford was sold at 345 Tarrytown Road, while the Manhattan ticket was purchased at 1428A 6th Avenue. Both locations recorded identical prize amounts from the same drawing, reflecting multiple winners at the same prize tier statewide.

“The New York Lottery continues to be North America’s largest and most profitable Lottery, contributing $3.6 billion in fiscal year 2024-2025 to benefit public schools in New York State,” the agency stated.

Officials also pointed to resources for responsible gaming. “New Yorkers struggling with a gambling addiction, or who know someone who is, can find help at NYProblemGamblingHelp.org,” the Lottery said, noting support is also available through the HOPEline.
