A months-long investigation into a high-end auto theft and home invasion ring has led to the indictment of five men accused of stealing luxury vehicles and valuables across three New Jersey counties, with key contributions from the Wall Township Police Department, authorities announced Friday.
The ring is believed to have stolen approximately $700,000 worth of cars and property during a coordinated crime spree that included two incidents in Wall Township. On September 24, 2024, a 2024 Land Rover was stolen. On December 11, 2024, suspects allegedly forced their way into a residence on River Road, taking jewelry, a firearm, purses, and a key fob, which they used to steal a 2020 Porsche.
“These crimes, particularly the home invasions, presented a serious threat to the safety and security of our residents,” said Wall Township Police Chief Sean O’Halloran.
The indicted individuals were identified as Samir White, 19; Quamine McDonald, 18; Samir Jordan, 19; Tysir Philips, 19; and Tauheed McLean, 21 — all from Newark except for Philips, who is from Orange. They face multiple charges including conspiracy, auto theft, burglary, and weapons offenses.
The crew allegedly targeted high-end vehicles by first gaining access to homes and stealing key fobs and valuables. Investigators say they operated across Monmouth, Ocean, and Essex counties.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and the Division of Criminal Justice led the investigation, with support from the Wall Township Police Department, Monmouth and Essex County Prosecutors’ Offices, and police from Sea Girt, Bay Head, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief O’Halloran commended Sergeant Christopher Mason, Detective Zach Honecker, Detective Devin Corso, and Patrolman Tyler Driscoll for their efforts in the case.
