Newburgh smoke shop sells $100K winning Powerball ticket

Powerball Powerplay ticket worth $100K sold at Newburgh smoke shop

Newburgh, NY – A Powerball player in Newburgh turned their ticket into a six-figure win after matching five numbers and selecting the Power Play option in the December 13 drawing, securing a $100,000 third-place prize.

The lucky ticket was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Road in Newburgh, lottery officials confirmed.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Power Ball, and because the player opted for the Power Play feature, their $50,000 third-place prize was doubled to $100,000.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Winning numbers are drawn from two separate fields: one through 69 for the five white balls and one through 26 for the red Power Ball. The Power Play option multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times, depending on the draw.

All non-jackpot prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.
