Newport News police investigating armed robbery at Langley Federal Credit Union

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Authorities are searching for a suspect who robbed the Langley Federal Credit Union on Jefferson Avenue at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

Newport News police responded to the bank around 12:30 p.m. after a suspect entered at 12:25 p.m., displayed a firearm, and passed a bag to the teller. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading north on Jefferson Avenue before being seen moving east toward Patrick Henry Drive.

The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a red hoodie, a gray knit cap, a black mask pulled to his nose, camouflage-style pants, and gray and white New Balance shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit an anonymous tip online at P3tips.com. A reward of up to $1,500 is available for information leading to an arrest.
