Newport News Police Recruits Lend a Helping Hand at Local Foodbank

August 17, 2024

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A big shout out to the Newport News Police Department Recruit Class for their outstanding community service at our Foodbank today! The recruits have been instrumental in packing 360 USDA boxes, landscaping, and cleaning the warehouse, making a significant impact on our operations.

We are deeply grateful for their hard work and dedication to serving the community. Their efforts help ensure that more families have access to the food they need.

If your group—whether a business, school, or organization—wants to make a difference like the Newport News Police recruits, we’d love to have your help! Volunteering with us is a great way to give back to the community. To organize your group volunteer event, please reach out to Megan, our Volunteer Coordinator, at mgrigorian@hrfoodbank.org.

Remember, every helping hand contributes to a fuller plate and a happier community!
