NFL Thursday Night Pick, Raiders versus Chargers odds

LAS VEGAS, NV –  The 7-6 Las Vegas Raiders are hosing the 4-9 Los Angeles Chargers for this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football (TNF).   Joe Wiz has been on a roll with his picks this season and as we head into the final leg of the season, things are just starting to heat up in the league.  Get it from the source, send Joe Wiz a text.

“This has been a very unusual season of football in the NFL and as we head into the final stretch of the regular season and prepare for the playoffs,” This game has playoff implications for one while the other is just using it as momentum into next season since the AFC West has already been claimed by the defending champion Chiefs.”

For the Bolts, this game is about bragging rights. Both teams met back in week 9 with the Raiders claiming a 31-26 victory. Since that time the Raiders have won three out of their last five games, while LA has only won two of their last five.

“Neither team looks like a true playoff contender however Las Vegas is on the outside looking in but still has a legit chance to lock up a potential wild card spot,” Wiz added. “Both teams matchup and know each other well especially after having already faced off.”

The current line for the game tomorrow night has the Raiders favored by 3 with the total at 53. This should be a big test for LA’s defense that has been set back by injuries including their all-pro strong safety Derwin James who suffered a season-ending knee injury before week one started. While Vegas has a receiving corps full of speed that can take the top off of defenses including rookie standout Henry Ruggs III as well as Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow.

After this game, the Raiders will end the season with the Miami Dolphins (8-5) and the Denver Broncos (5-8), and the Chargers also have Denver and end the season on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs (12-1). This season, the Raiders are 4-0 against the spread when facing division opponents while the Chargers are 1-2.

The current line for tonight’s game has Vegas a 3 point favorite and the total is 53. The Raiders have given up 30 or more points eight times this season and only the winless Jets lead them in that category. This coincides with Grunden’s troops going over in 10 of 13 games this season. On Monday we called for the Ravens/Browns to go Over. While we aren’t expecting the same type of fireworks as Monday, we lean to another high scoring affair as both teams’ defenses are suspect.
