NJ Correctional Officer Dies from Coronavirus

Last week, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy released details regarding infection rates within the New Jersey Department of Corrections guards and employees.  This week, the department lost a veteran correctional officer, Nelson Perdomo.

“It’s with great sadness we share the passing of NJDOC family member, Senior Correctional Police Officer Nelson Perdomo. Officer Perdomo was a beloved veteran of the Department, with 19 years of service and worked out of East Jersey State Prison,” the NJ DOC said today. “We offer our condolences to his family, friends and all those whose lives he’s touched.”
