North Bergen Man Faces Charges for Sexual Assault of Juvenile

Secaucus, NJ – Edgar Rompich-Ramos, 19, of North Bergen, has been arrested on charges of committing sex crimes against an 11-year-old girl.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit took Rompich-Ramos into custody on February 9, 2024, for offenses that occurred at a North Bergen residence throughout 2023. The victim, known to the defendant, was subjected to aggravated sexual assault and endangerment of her welfare, including facilitating child sex abuse material.

Charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, as well as third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Rompich-Ramos is currently held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility. A court appearance is scheduled for February 14, 2024, with the state seeking his detention.
