North Bergen Police Officers Receive Homeland Security Certification

April 12, 2024

NORTH BERGEN, NJ — Three members of the North Bergen Police Department, Police Captain Victor Queiro, Lieutenant Alex J. Barrios, and Officer Michael Derin, have successfully completed the Protective Service Operations Training Program (PSOTP) and received certification from the US Department of Homeland Security.

The PSOTP provides specialized training for personnel involved in protective service operations for high-risk individuals, focusing on a range of skills from mission planning to motorcade operations. In their final assessment, the officers executed a simulated protective detail, with Commissioners Allen Pascual and Hugo Cabrera participating as VIP domestic leaders. The demonstration provided valuable insights into the operational challenges of protective services, impressing the commissioners with its thoroughness and execution.
