NY lottery player shopping at local Wegmans walks away with more than groceries

Winning TAKE 5 ticket worth over $19K sold at Rochester Wegmans

ROCHESTER, NY – A lucky customer who shopped at a local Wegmans walked away with more than groceries after purchasing a TAKE 5 ticket worth $19,015 in Wednesday’s midday drawing.

The New York Lottery confirmed that the top-prize winning ticket was sold at the Wegmans located at 525 Titus Avenue in Rochester for the November 6 TAKE 5 MIDDAY drawing.

The TAKE 5 game draws numbers twice a day—once at 2:30 p.m. and again at 10:30 p.m.—from a field of one through 39. Winners have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their prize.

The identity of the winner has not been disclosed, and it is unknown whether the ticket was purchased by an individual or as part of a group.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable in North America, contributing over $3.6 billion in the current fiscal year to fund public education across the state.
