NYC Police Seek Suspect in Assault and Robbery on Southbound A Train

NEW YORK, NY — The New York City Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect involved in an assault and robbery that took place aboard the Southbound A train on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM.

The victim, a 56-year-old male, was asleep when he was approached by an unknown individual who began punching him in the face. The assailant then stole property from the victim’s bag and fled the scene, heading westbound on Liberty Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 5’7″ tall, with a slim build, and aged between 25 to 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweatpants, clear glasses, and grey sneakers. He was also carrying a plastic bag and a black backpack.
