An off-duty NYPD sergeant was arrested early Wednesday morning in Queens and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a collision involving property damage, according to police.
David Kim, 33, was taken into custody at approximately 12:12 a.m. within the confines of the NYPD’s 111th Precinct, which covers neighborhoods in northeastern Queens, including Bayside and Douglaston. Authorities confirmed that Kim is currently employed as a sergeant with the New York City Police Department.
Police said the arrest stemmed from a crash in which Kim allegedly left the scene after causing property damage. Further details on the collision, including its exact location and the extent of the damage, were not immediately released.
