NYPD Apprehends Suspect in Public Lewdness Case


BROOKLYN, NY – The New York City Police Department announced an update in a recent public lewdness case with the arrest of a suspect identified as Mayer Fishman, a 58-year-old male from Brooklyn.

The incident, which took place within the 84 Precinct/Transit District 30, occurred on a southbound “Q” train at the DeKalb Avenue and Flatbush Avenue subway station. On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at approximately 6:40 PM, Fishman was reported to have engaged in an act of public lewdness. He was observed masturbating with full exposure by a 37-year-old male victim, who was also aboard the train. Following the act, Fishman left the train and initially fled the scene.

Thanks to the prompt and effective investigation by the NYPD, along with community cooperation, Fishman was apprehended and charged with public lewdness.
