NYPD searching for suspect who assaulted MTA bus driver in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY – Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with an assault on an MTA bus driver in East Flatbush earlier this month.

According to the NYPD Crime Stoppers unit, the attack occurred around 5:25 p.m. on January 12, when a 48-year-old male MTA bus driver stopped a B35 bus in front of 3016 Church Avenue, within the 67th Precinct.

An unidentified man boarded the bus and got into a verbal argument with the driver before punching him several times in the face. The suspect then fled the bus and ran eastbound along Church Avenue. The driver sustained facial injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Police seeking public’s help

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses as they work to identify the assailant.
