On Sunday, police received a report of an assault on April 14, 2024, around 3:34 p.m., in the area of Ashford Street and Sutter Avenue. According to the report, a 74-year-old male victim was approached from behind by an unidentified male who struck him on the back of the head with an unknown object before fleeing on foot.

The victim was transported to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in stable condition by EMS.

The sought individual is described as a male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, with a dark complexion, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, and having a slim build and dreads. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, red t-shirt, black pants, and white and black colored sneakers. Law enforcement continues their efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect in connection with the assault.
