Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect who allegedly slapped a 67-year-old woman following a verbal dispute in Queens.

Queens, NY – The New York City Police Department is searching for a suspect accused of assaulting a 67-year-old woman during an afternoon confrontation in Queens last month.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on June 23 near the intersection of 43rd Street and 47th Avenue within the confines of the 108th Precinct.

Victim slapped after argument

Police said the 67-year-old woman was walking in the area when she was approached by an unidentified individual who engaged her in a verbal dispute.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly slapped the woman in the face before fleeing on foot eastbound on 47th Avenue.

Authorities did not release information about the victim’s injuries.

Police ask for tips

The NYPD is asking anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, in Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
