Queens, NY — The New York City Police Department is searching for a suspect accused of assaulting an 81-year-old woman during a verbal dispute in Queens earlier this week.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. Thursday near 86-07 35th Avenue, within the confines of the 115th Precinct in the Jackson Heights neighborhood.

Police said the unidentified individual approached the elderly woman and became involved in a verbal dispute. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face.

Victim suffered minor injuries

The 81-year-old woman sustained pain and a minor laceration as a result of the assault, according to police.

After the attack, the suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made.

NYPD asks for public’s help

The NYPD released information about the case through its Crime Stoppers program and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
