NYPD seeks suspect and vehicle in 2018 Bronx homicide of Wendy Martinez

BRONX, N.Y. — The NYPD is renewing its call for public assistance in identifying a suspect and vehicle connected to the fatal shooting of Wendy Martinez, 45, in her Bronx apartment six years ago.

The homicide occurred on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at approximately 9:42 p.m., when officers responded to a call of an assault at 760 Grand Concourse, Apartment 1F, in the 44th Precinct. Upon arrival, police found Martinez unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to her face. EMS pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Surveillance footage from the incident shows an unidentified male approaching Martinez’s apartment door twice before running away after the shooting. He is described as a male in his 20s with a medium complexion and build, last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket, a dark baseball cap, dark sweatpants with a Miami Heat logo on the left leg, and gray sneakers.

Police are also seeking information about a vehicle believed to be linked to the case. The car, described as a BMW 3 Series four-door sedan with black rims, was last seen traveling northbound on Sheridan Avenue from East 161st Street.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
